Commercial Forecasting Analyst

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Forecasting Analyst to lead commercial activity for British Gas Lite in the SME energy market. The suitable candidate will be responsible for delivering strategies that maximise customer growth and value in a sustainable way.
The Role
* Own pricing strategy to optimise BG Lite’s position in the market including channel management
* Optimise acquisition costs for BG Lite, including delivery of channel strategy and oversight for TPI commission arrangements
* Regular commercial reporting to assist with informed decision making on commercial strategy and optimise commercial and sales performance
* Own and develop market intelligence reporting for management and determine pricing position.
* Development, implementation and ongoing delivery of commercial reporting and value insight to improve performance
* Work in line with the decision-making process that delivers appropriate commercial governance for BG Lite whilst ensuring an agile approach to test and learn
* Drive improvements in the BG Lite pricing process working with SME Energy and procurement to optimise performance
* Work with Commercial Manager on Gross Margin forecasting process, ensuring business plans align with strategic objectives for BG Lite
* Ensure the development of processes for key customer journeys (Shop, Join, Stay and Leave) supports delivery of commercial objectives
* Work closely with teams in SME Energy and across the business to ensure joined-up commercial decision-making and shared learnings
* Delivery of a renewal strategy that delivers value and supports the business in retaining customers
The Person
* Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Experience of price setting in a mass market environment.
* Ideally experience of working in a start-up or a digital business.
* Track record of managing and end to end pricing process.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Strong Excel skills (Intermediate to Advanced).
* Expert knowledge of at least one functional area in Commercial (e.g. pricing).
* Experience of building strong relationships with senior leaders.
