We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Construction Manager and Graduate Project Manager to join us and will be based on our UK Power Networks contract, working on various sites in London. 


  • Working with the Contract Manager, supervision of direct site staff and sub-contractors
  • Ensuring an efficient method of construction, to the required construction programme, and achieve all commercial targets

  • Ensure that all projects and designated duties are successfully carried out in accordance with safety, technical and legislative policies and procedures

  • Ensure performance is measured correctly and issues are responded to in the most reasonable and economical way

  • Completion of monthly Project Update and weekly reporting statistics and liaison with project planner and PMO

  • Produce 2 weekly look ahead programmes

  • Understand the scope of works and set out a programme of works with the activities established to meet delivery timescales

  • Understand the meaning and allocation of the CU system

  • Assess the level of risk and identify any health and safety risks/ financial risks and the development of the associated contingency plans

  • Proactively motivate and develop the workforce encouraging good communication and team work

  • Work closely with back office and commercial management team to ensure that all processes and activities are carried and completed in accordance with the approved procedures

  • Ensure that all operational staff have the appropriate competencies to undertake works allocate to them

  • To ensure working RAMS are performed correctly and daily briefings are carried out

  • Comply with Project Manager's responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy, complete the relevant documentation on a daily/weekly basis and encourage safe working practices on site

  • Check on Engineers and Site Managers that they complete all relevant inspections and documentation

  • Prioritise own workload in order to meet deadlines without comprising quality and safety standards

  • Proactively motivate and develop the workforce encouraging good communication and team work

  • Create and maintain good communication and relationships with, clients, suppliers, councils, staff and members of the public


  • Degree educated in an engineering discipline such as Civil, Construction, Mechanical or Electrical

  • Ability to analyse problems and offer solutions

  • Excellent communicator both verbal and written
