Qualifications

  • A relevant technical qualification usually to Degree level, with 5 years minimum demonstrable similar experience.
  • Experience in managing a team, including relevant management qualification.
  • An extensive understanding of SHE legislation and standards; NEBOSH or suitable H&S qualification.
  • Contractor SE Levels 1 through 4 essential.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and coaching qualities.
  • Excellent communication skills.  Able to communicate, negotiate, influence and persuade others to achieve business goals. Can communicate effectively at all levels including excellent report writing skills.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant legislation relating to contract placement and management.
  • Experience of financial and budget management.
  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Project management skills and demonstrable experience in managing complex project to time and to budget.

Responsibilities

Location: Blackburn Meadows

Salary: £51,824 - £63,245

Fixed Term for 21 months

The Tender Manager has the responsibility to deliver the Blackburn Meadows Efficiency Upgrade to time, cost and quality. You’ll provide direction and leadership to the whole team to achieve successful, project delivery and ensure we drive performance. You’ll Responsible for the development of a safe and professional environment for on-site activities.

Stakeholder management is key as you will be tasked with liaising with third party suppliers and customers as well as providing advice and technical guidance to the site team and wider business to ensure cross functional working.

You’ll be responsible for setting contract performance criteria and initiating projects to successfully achieve these improvements along with contract placement, assisting in managing project contracts to time, cost and quality.  You’ll be accountable for the safe and successful delivery of the contract placement plan with where appropriate direct contract management / responsibility seeking opportunities to reduce costs and enhance revenue.  You’ll use your expertise to translate project objectives into functional implementation plans ensuring effective implementation.  Safety is key, so you’ll drive safety and environmental performance throughout by developing and engaging all BBMEU participants with innovative and fresh approaches.
