We €™re looking for an experienced Control and Instrumentation Technician to join us at our Eastcroft site in Nottinghamshire.   You will be responsible for the implementation and execution of all corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance ensuring that the maintenance department delivers a safe, effective and efficient service.

A driving license is essential as working flexibility for call out when required.

Your duties will involve:

  • Implementation and development of the site CMMS to involve direct liaison with the Maintenance Manager, and Electrical and Mechanical Team Leaders.  
  • You will assist in the strategic development of the maintenance philosophy by implementing new maintenance techniques and procedures directed at increasing the overall plant availability.
  • To be directly involved in the planning stages of all planned outages to ensure outage time schedules and specific maintenance programmes are completed on time and within budget.
  • Direct supervision/liaison with sub-contractors either as a general additional maintenance resource or through specific maintenance contracts.      
  • To deputise for the Electrical Maintenance Team Leader when required.

Our Control & Instrumentation Technician will need:

  • ONC/HNC in electrical engineering.
  • Trained to a minimum of C&G parts 1 & 2 with current 17th edition regulations knowledge and an advantage of C&G 2391 inspection and testing.
  • Ideally have 11kV operational experience.
  • A working knowledge of variable speed drives and controls.
  • Fault finding/ repairs and design of installations on Instrumentation systems, including temperature, pressure, level positioning devices as well as CEMS systems.
  • Able to use various test equipment, multimeters, process meters, Heart communicators, PAT testers.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Fault finding/ repairs and installations to Allen Bradley Controllogix /Slc500 processor systems.
  • Fault finding/ repairs and installations to Beckhoff device net systems.
  • Carry out ladder logic modifications and SCADA changes as required.
  • Fault finding/ repairs on CCTV systems.
  • Must be PC literate with experience of Ethernet networks copper/ fiber, POE.
  • Must be able to fault find/ repair PC €™s to component level and install software/ hardware.
  • Must be able to generate, read and modify electrical drawings.
  • Carry out inspections/ repairs and advise on PAT testing.
  • Source spares and replacement components.
  • Maintain plant records and testing certificates for the site.
