HGV Driver (Class C minimum)

We €™re looking for an experienced HGV Driver to join us at FCC Environment.   If you currently hold a Class 2 license we will provide the opportunity for you to progress to Class 1 as we will need you to drive at all levels.  

This is a temporary role and we are looking for someone to join us on 5th March 2018 for a six month period, although this could be extended.

Working as part of the Suffolk HWRC transport team you will visit our contracted Household Waste sites and handle and service the containers.     

This role will involve working 42 hours over a five day week (Monday to Friday) operating on a fixed shift basis offering regular overtime, therefore flexibility is essential.

Your duties will involve:

  • Driving all vehicles involved with the HWRC contract, including drawbar and hook loader units and articulated trucks (training provided)
  • Ongoing communication with the Transport Office
  • Carrying out vehicle/plant daily checks and simple maintenance to ensure that all equipment on site or being driven on the highway is in a safe and working condition and that any defects are reported

Our HGV Driver will need:

  • Clean HGV Class C licence   (minimum)
  • Digital driver card
  • Awareness of environmental and road haulage compliance and law
  • Customer focused
  • Strong work ethic, we need someone who is willing to grow and develop within this busy and committed environment
