FCC Environment, part of the FCC Group, have a requirement for a Process Technician to take responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of their EfW plant at Allington.
Process Technician Role Purpose
Responsible for the operation of the plant within a central control room and out in the field on a 24 hour shift rotation. Duties will include fault diagnosis and rectification, carrying out the role of Authorised person as necessary.
Process Technician Responsibilities
Understand and implement the company SHEQ policy
Diagnose and rectify plant faults
To update shift log with plant and process changes
Compliance with relevant legislations
Assist with all shutdown activities ensuring plant downtime is minimised
Carry out front line maintenance to ensure plant availability is maintained
Risk assessments ensuring that methods and systems of work are safe
Ensure all employees visitors to the site are inducted in the site safety and emergency procedures
DCS Operation and alarm handling
Operation of the EfW and boiler chemistry
Monitor consumable stock levels and supervise bulk deliveries and loading
Qualifications and Experience
Experience of working in the waste management business or similar
Experience of DCS
A variety of basic maintenance skills
The ability to operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks would be advantageous
Knowledge and understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation
The successful applicant will demonstrate drive and resilience with proven success of influencing at the highest levels. You will be able to coach and inspire staff and develop successful long term employee and industrial relations.
