FCC Environment, part of the FCC Group, have a requirement for a Shift Manager to lead improvements in operational performance at their Greatmoor EfW facility.
Shift Manager Role Purpose
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Manager is responsible for the health and safety of all staff, contractors and visitors to the site, the minimisation of impact to the environment and the operation of the site in an efficient and effective manner. Performance measures will include the operation of the plant, it's safety and profitability. You will ensure high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping are established and maintained ensuring your team work safely, compliantly and effectively.
Shift Manager Responsibilities
Understand and implement the company SHEQ policy
Day-to-day Safety and Environmental performance
Risk assessments ensuring that methods and systems of work are safe
Aspects and Impacts analysis
Ensure all employees and sub-contractors are trained and competent and that necessary licenses and certificates are in force
Provide dayshift Senior Authorised Person assistance, leadership and direction to the day operations team
Estimating and ordering material requirements
Budget responsibility for critical operational budgets
Liaising with Buckinghamshire County Council to ensure efficient waste delivery and turn-around times
Health and safety
Management of the day to day intake of vehicles ensuring compliance with permits
Qualifications and Experience
Min HNC in relevant Engineering discipline or operational experience equivalent
SAP experience desirable, although training will be given
Knowledge and understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation
Commercial awareness, including preparation of investment proposals and budget management
Minimum five years supervisory experience with strong leadership skills involving a multi-disciplined team and proven ability to select and build strong teams
Ability to communicate and work with flexibility and collaboratively
Performance driven with the ability to deliver added value and assist the improvement of operational performance
