Job Purpose

You will create, manage, maintain & control the asset, geospatial and work management data and information to ensure that all 250,000 assets that exist on the Electricity Transmission system are correctly registered and recognised in the regulated asset value.

You will also manage the update of the Electricity Asset Register ensuring that the financial records are correctly attributed to the recorded assets, to enable accurate unit costs to be derived which underpin future cost targeting.


This role will be based in National Grid House in Warwick. Other National Grid office locations will be considered.

A full valid driving licence is required for this role.

About The Role 

  • You will manage accurate asset records and scripts within ET €™s core asset, geospatial and work management systems, throughout the asset lifecycle
  • You will develop, implement strategies, policies, procedures and specifications associated with the production, retention and management ofasset records, to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory obligations
  • You will liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the creation of value cases to support ET €™s evolving asset management approach to meet the requirements of our price controlsET
  • You will establish and develop monitoring and reporting processes on asset data lifecycle performance
  • You will develop improved data collection processes and identify systems improvements for handling ET asset information to be used across all business streams including technical data, training and documentation requirements

About You

You will have in depth understanding, through experience of the assets that make up the Electricity Transmission systems and/or how asset data is used across the business.

You will have good knowledge of Asset and Work Management processes used across Electricity Transmission and in particular TP500

You will have knowledge and/or experience of extracting and manipulating data from ET asset, geospatial and work management systems.

You will have knowledge of and experience in querying databases

You will have demonstrated Analytical and Problem Solving Capabilities

You will have proven ability to contribute to effective team working.

You will have an awareness of fixed asset accounting and the requirements of Sarbannes Oxley



Essential: Degree or equivalent experience

Desirable: Membership of relevant professional body. IAM Certificate.
