About the role
We currently have a vacancy as a Project Engineer based in north Wales working within the SP Energy Networks business.
Firstly you will be a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), operating on the electricity network, managing planned power outages, and undertaking fault restoration whilst on standby. Additionally you will be responsible for delivering safely, maintenance, investment and new connection projects in line with our regulatory programmes.
You will deliver all works in line with financial, regulatory and business plan objectives whilst having a high regard to safe working and customer and stakeholder engagement, particularly where these affect local communities and business.
The role will involve contract and project management skills, backed up by network knowledge and operational techniques that will best optimise our works and maximise our returns. Everything we do must be to the benefit of the customer, and carried out to the highest levels of health and safety compliance.
We will be looking for someone who has an engineering/professional qualification or equivalent experience, with experience in a project delivery role. You will already be working on LV and/or HV networks and therefore will have network construction and operational experience with a basic understanding of control systems as well as engineering standards and specifications up to 33kV.
You should also be proficient with basic IT and software packages such as Microsoft Office.
We will be looking for someone with strong communication skills. You will be required to present information effectively to our stakeholder and customer communities, as well as being able to robustly control small site working parties and project teams as part of your project portfolio.
This is a permanent full-time position based in our Gwynedd area at either Caernarfon or Llandudno with a salary from £34,195 to £49,156 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus other company benefits including Stakeholder Pension plan, training and development, generous annual leave and flexible benefits of your choice.
