The Role
As Consents Advisor, you'll assist in the management of obtaining all necessary consents to ensure we successfully deliver projects to the required timescale. You'll report into the Consents Manager and be accountable for ensuring that all the necessary rights to deliver the project options are in place.
Some of your other main accountabilities will include;
- Ensuring work is carried out safely
- To deliver all necessary planning consents to support project recommendations up to Gate 3 as well as providing support to the Delivery team during the construction period.
- Assist the Consent Manager to co-ordinate all resources and processes required to obtain necessary the consents and provide reports for the Project Manager and Lead Consent Manager.
- Assisting with managing internal and external resources to provide deliverables required as part of the consent process to meet project programme.
- Maintain effective communications with engineering, legal, procurement and delivery teams to achieve project commitments and also external stakeholders including statutory consultees and local community leaders.
- Provide support to the Business Development team on pre-gate 1 projects to align and input on key risks.
- Work closely with the Delivery team to ensure that projects that are approaching stage Gate 3 have all necessary permissions and consent conditions discharged to enable the delivery team to construct the project.
- You'll also work closely with the Generation teams required to operate the project over its lifetime and during decommissioning of the project.
Your Skills & Experience
The successful person for this role will ideally have project management experience along with knowledge of planning requirements for major capital projects. We're looking for you to have an awareness of the quality management; risk management; governance systems and procedures; and project scheduling, along with knowledge of how to obtain planning consents for significant infrastructure projects. Experience of financial planning and capital projects would also be great.
You'll be confident to challenge project teams and key stakeholders when needed and you'll have excellent communication skills. These skills will also come in handy when you find yourself engaging and influencing colleagues at differing levels within the business. Furthermore, the ability to build strong relations with eternal stakeholders will also be key to this role.
