Location: Reading Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits Permanent | Full Time Hours | 37 hours per week Our Role SSE Enterprise Utilities designs, builds and owns electricity, gas, heat and water networks for residential and commercial developments throughout the UK ranging from small domestic housing developments and shopping centres to large commercial retail and industrial parks. The Contracts Manager is responsible for leading the set-up of the Contract Management function, driving best practices across the SSE Enterprise Utilities Team to enable the smooth delivery of services of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV), Joint Venture (JV) and ESCo structures to ensure contractual obligations are met regarding the delivery of Distributed Energy and large Utilities Networks projects. You will also be involved in the set-up of an inventory of contracts per project/Utilities Network to allow tracking and reporting. You’ll provide day to day contract management of the SPV/JV to ensure acceptable levels of delivery of contractual obligations, in line with budgets and forecasts. Within the role you will manage existing contracts and generate clear briefs of contractual responsibilities and be actively involved with the Utilities Team. You will identify required changes to existing contracts and support the development of the contractual documentation by collaborating with the Commercial and Legal Teams within SSE. You will work closely with the Management Team to contribute to the building of annual budgets and regular forecasts by providing inputs to the monthly financial performance reviews based on contract performance/KPIs, identifying key contractual risks and opportunities. Your Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Contracts Manager or Contract Negotiator with a proven background in drafting commercial contracts, Experience within SPV/JV is highly desirable too. As a skilled Contract Manager, you will have excellent negotiation and organisational skills to allow you to set up, track, and report on KPIs. You will also have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Team player is of key significance with SSE and you will be expected to work as a team with the ability to impact and influence decisions internally and externally with the capability to understand complex commercial and technical issues.
