Job Title: Electrical Multi Skilled Craftsperson
Location: Clunie Power Station, Pitlochry
Salary:  £24,923 –  £32,919 depending on skills and experience + benefits + annual bonus
Permanent Full Time Hours
The Role
The multi-disciplined team based at Clunie Power Station are responsible for the day to day operations, maintenance and repairs of our Hydro Generation plant to ensure it is kept in a safe and efficient state. As an important member of the Operations and Maintenance Team you will perform a key role in the safe operation and maintenance of the Hydro Generation assets.
You’ll be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance activities and where required mechanical & civil maintenance activities within your competence. You’ll be involved with the other maintenance personnel in day to day defect rectification, repair work and designated project work as well as carrying out routine inspections and checks to ensure our equipment and fixed plant is kept to a high standard of operational effectiveness.
Other key elements of the role will include communicating with team members and reporting operational defects as they arise, carrying out risk assessments and environmental and safety inspections. You’ll also receive training to operate fixed Generation plant.
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you must have an electrical or multi skilled craftsperson background with electrical bias and should ideally have previous experience of working on heavy rotating machinery. You will be required to have a minimum vocational qualification (NVQ or SVQ) at Level 3, awarded by an accredited learning provider, or an equivalent craft apprenticeship award.
We’re looking for a practical person who prides themselves on being a team player. Outstanding communication skills are essential as you’ll be interacting with the public and working with other teams and stakeholders on all levels across multiple business areas.
Due to the nature of the role you may, from time to time, be required to work outside in all weather conditions and it may be necessary to carry out work out of normal working hours when required. You must be computer literate and you’ll be required to become proficient in using our maintenance scheduling and reporting software and other company software applications, for which you’ll be given full training.
A full driving licence is essential, and a first aid qualification would be advantageous.
Applicants should ideally reside or be prepared to relocate to within 30 miles of Pitlochry.
