Salary: circa €46,000 depending on skills and experience + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37.5 hours per week
Our Role
The role of the Energy Analyst within this team is to ensure the efficient and accurate management of the business across gas, electricity and carbon markets, maximising the value to both the generation and supply areas. This will take the form of regular and ad-hoc reporting of key market factors, with deep dive analysis varying from long term to intra-day timeframes. A key aspect of this role will be the measurement, monitoring and reporting of the forward market hedging performance across the business, with a focus on creating value and mitigating risk within the portfolio.
Additional responsibilities will include:
-Working with other business areas to ensure the accuracy and cohesion of data feeding into hedging mechanisms
-Development of further analytical tools to optimise both forward and short term ISEM market positions
-Broader in-depth analysis of external market conditions and drivers
Your Skills and Experience
- Ability to perform business modelling & draw sound business conclusions & recommendations
-Macro & micro understanding of energy market interactions, particularly in the context of ISEM
-Commercial instinct with the ability to identify value through managing an integrated energy portfolio
-Expert in managing complex analytical models through Microsoft Excel, and ability to build and develop modelling processes drawing on inputs from a variety of sources. (Familiarity with other coding/programming languages an advantage)
-Confidence in making decisions, with a focus on delivering targets while bearing in mind market risks
-Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
-A structured and systematic approach to working, with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
-A desire to develop individually, as well as build the value and presence of the Energy Markets team
Lastly, were looking for someone who is target driven, trustworthy, organised, career motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of the dynamic Energy Markets team.
