Location: Reading / Havant / Southampton Salary: £44,195 – £58,371 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available | 37 hours per week Our Role Scottish and Southern Electricity Network’s (SSEN) Innovation team is building an innovative and inspiring team of people to design and deliver original solutions to issues faced by UK networks, mainly from projects funded through Ofgem’s Network Innovation Allowance. Our principal aim is to identify, develop and trial innovations for improving efficiency, decarbonising UK networks and integrating renewable generation and other low carbon technologies such as Electric Vehicles with a focus on delivering benefits as quickly and efficiently as possible. A key part of our programme is the capture and dissemination of knowledge from research and development activities, to meet internal and external governance requirements and as such aid in the transition of the business from a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to a Distribution System Operator (DSO). The Innovation Project Manager is a key resource within the Innovation Team responsible for the development and successful delivery of a programme of research, development and demonstration projects to deliver value to our stakeholders and business. Reporting to the Network Innovation Allowance Programme Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing and coordinating multiple live projects and associated resources and where necessary working externally with academia, SMEs and large multi-nationals. Your Skills and Experience As Project Manager, you will develop commercial and market models to support project implementation and delivery. Demonstrable project management skills including Scope, Requirements and change Management, Business Case Development, Budgeting and cost management, Planning and Scheduling, Issue and Risk Management, Technology Management, Management of resources and Third parties as well as Stakeholder and Benefits Management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital and you will be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. A project management related qualification is advantageous. You will preferably hold a degree in an Electrical discipline and be working towards chartered status, a minimum HNC in an Engineering discipline is required. Experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of electrical distribution or transmission networks is desirable. Experience working in a regulated environment would be a distinct advantage.
