In September 2018 Thames Water proposed an £11.7 billion five year business plan, for the period 2020-2025, to Ofwat. Since submission, we have reviewed the plans from other water companies, received feedback from Ofwat and considered our own ambitions. Before Ofwat make their final decisions on our business plan there are changes we have already chosen to make. For example, to address observations made by Ofwat since submission. This role is within the Business Plan Assurance Team who assist the Thames Water Board in ensuring that the business plan meets the needs of our customers, is high-quality and deliverable. The role is required immediately through to 31 March 2019 to undertake assurance projects, liaise with workstream leads and generally help to build trust and confidence in our refined business plan.

What will this role involve?
Directly support the Business Plan Assurance Project Manager in delivering the Business Plan Assurance Plan.
Support design and implementation of assurance over changes to the business plan (primarily, data and guidance compliance).
Unde rtake ad-hoc assurance reviews of Business Plan components as required.
Liaise with Business Plan workstream leads and subject matter experts.
Undertake other duties as required to help build trust and confidence in our Business Plan.
Support the Group External Reporting Assurance Manager with designing and reporting on progress and outcomes to Executive Committee and Audit, Risk & Reporting Committee.
What are we looking for?
Do you have internal or external audit experience? Are you highly organised with the ability to coordinate activities and manage tight deadlines? If the answers are yes, look no further! We are seeking an individual who is used to working flexibly and juggling a number of priorities. Your experience w orking in an audit environment will demonstrate your ability to liaise at all levels and influence beyond span of control and to understand customer expectations, business procedures & processes. Working in a utilities or regulatory background would be advantageous but not essential.
Thames Water information and salary details
This 3 month fixed term contract role is based in our Reading head office, with a salary of up to £45,000 pro rata.
