What is the purpose of the role?

To take a leading role in the Tideway Integration Group (TIG) for the technical governance of the ICA\SCADA systems integration associated with the design and delivery of the Tideway scope of works, as it delivers both new assets and interfaces with existing Thames Water assets in line with the Works Instructions of the Main Works and System Integration Tideway Contracts.

This is a great opportunity to work both independently and as part of a wider team on an exceptional and crucial infrastructure project that will d evelop London’s sewer networks. This is a critical role within Thames Water to help ensure we deliver on our commitment to Ofwat as a business.

What will this role involve?

Act as the Tideway Integration Group’s design expert on all ICA/SCADA related issues including, SCADA Mimic development, operational user interfaces, alarm prioritisation and reports development workshops.

Providing ICA/SCADA expertise to support the work of the Design Manager and act as Lead Design Engineer /Lead Reviewer for Control related submissions.

Provide technical support on the required existing operational assets control systems works that will require upgrading in readiness for the Tideway System becoming operational.

Provide advice to Waste Water Ops and their appointed Contractors on Thames Water standards and requirements for interfacing with our assets.

Responsible for the assurance of the designed main works scope as they interface with Thames Water assets to properly safeguard Thames Water’s operating systems and assets. Provide advice to Tideway, Main Works Contractors, Eight20 TTSM and TW Waste Water Operations on Thames Water WI’s, asset standards and requirements for interfacing with our assets.

Ensure that the assets being provided by Tideway\MWCs\TWUL Upgrades for transfer to TWUL are designed to the correct standards and quality. This will involve reviewing submitted documentation from MWCs and ensuring that appropriate TW comments and feedback are addressed.

What are we looking for?

Ability to work closely with Tideway Design Authority team, Systems Integrator and Main Works Contractors and be trusted to become an integral part of their team. The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of Thames’ waste water operations organisation and procedures. Develop excellent working relationships with key stakeholders and advise on requirements for the SCADA required for LTT Operation from existing Thames Water SCADA systems. Experience in the water industry would be advantageous but not essential.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role will be based at Tideway’s offices at London Bridge however there is flexibility to be based out of another site. We are offering a salary of up to  £55,000 depending on skills and experience.
