Yorkshire Water

We manage the collection, treatment and distribution of water in Yorkshire, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day. We also collect; treat and dispose of about one billion litres of waste water safely back into the environment. We operate more than 700 water and sewage works and 120 reservoirs. We look after 62,000 miles of water and sewerage mains - enough to circle the earth! Our job is to keep the pipes in good working order and continually maintain and upgrade them to reduce the risk of bursts, low water pressure, sewer flooding and odour. To be able to do this, Yorkshire Water take pride in it's development programmes across the business created to develop a highly skilled workforce, with a focus on innovation and engineering, in order to maintain and build water treatment assets across the region.
